I have walked many miles working as an Engineering Manager, Developer, Program Manager and UI Specialist in the Digital Marketing space.

I was a UX designer and developer on the engineering data services team. I was responsible for both design using Figma, and development using React for a set of internal microservices based tools for building spaceships.
Developed internal business processes, requirements, and tools for managing large sets of data utilized in building spaceships for Blue Origin.
Designed task-oriented user experience workflows and wireframes using Figma and translated them into functional requirements and dependencies for Blue Origin’s software services.
Implemented user interface components, views, and workflows using React and Material UI frameworks.
Specific focus on performance optimization and usability
I served as the technical director and UI/UX architect in Digital Marketing development on Cisco.com. I was responsible for the technical architecture and managing the development team creating Cisco’s layout design system. From interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, and managing a team of up to 14 remote developers to developing the performance improvement strategy for Cisco.com, I played a key role on multiple high-profile, global initiatives.
Provide leadership and technical direction for development and QA teams to deliver multiple concurrent projects and initiatives, while implementing long term strategic technology changes for Layout Design Systems used by digital marketing.
Find, interview, hire, on-board, mentor and coach excellent engineers on a global development team.
Collaborate with UX design team to develop processes that accelerate design and development collaboration and decrease design churn while developing design requirements.
Provide thought leadership and cross-functional collaboration to champion quality, usability and performance across the design system.
Collaborate across the business while communicating project requirements, roadmaps and milestones with a wide variety of audiences and varying technical levels including executive leadership.
Develop engineering processes to collaborate and consistently deliver high quality code while minimizing risk, reducing errors, and ensuring continuity of business.
Provide UX design requirements for ease of authoring interfaces for components using AEM, enabling more than 4,000 content updates per month.
Developed performance optimization and improvement strategy for Cisco.com resulting in a 50% reduction in load time, 35% increase in customer engagement, and 20% decrease in bounce rate.
As the lead developer I architected and created the layout design systems used on Cisco.com.
Designed and implemented layout and design systems for use by Cisco developers worldwide using front-end technologies.
Collaborated cross-functionally with Cisco.com IT to provide engineering analysis and software development for IT projects on behalf of Cisco Web Marketing.
Collaborated with Cisco.com UX designers to produce new designs that efficiently used development resources while delivering rich user experiences.
Provided design feedback and created iterative development tracks to efficiently manage complexity, time to market, and development resources.
As part of the Cache Engine software development team, I helped create a transparent web caching solution with Cisco's first web management interface.
Successfully developed the Cisco Cache Engine appliance from inception to full release in eight months.
Developed the Web-based user interface and hardware/application performance, statistical monitoring, transaction logging, syslog, and HTTP compliance.
Developed software and tools for three software versions and two patches of the product.
I play the guitar, am a licensed FAA Senior Parachute Rigger, and have been on two Great White shark (cage) diving expeditions. travel, adventure, and live music are the things I love.
